We are using Magento 2 as the plaform to build upon. The project is about developing a box above the header panel, which should open when a link in header panel is clicked.
This customization needs to be absolutely created within the theme, no portion of the root directory will be changed in any manner.
Header Panel / Header Links: Clicking on any Header Link will open a box above Header Panel, instead of opening another tab. This "box" will have content related to that link. Each Header Link will have a different content. Height of this "box" will be less than 1 inch - and, width will be same as Header / Header Panel. There will be "call to action" buttons required in these contents - one such call to action would be download our partner's mobile app.
2. You will also provide how this content will be defined and changed from time to time, for different links.

4. There may be multiple ways of implementing this feature. You will explain why you took the approach you took and it's impacts - especially on page load time.
