Our company sells coins, silver bars, gold bars, rare watches and other unique antiques. We have a custom inventory system and the developer who wrote it works in-house. It runs on top of a MySQL database. We need to display our local inventory online using some sort of a shopping cart. Preferably a PHP and MySQL based shopping cart or we can build something using PHP and MySQL.
We want the two systems to communicate using XML - here is a brief example of how the system should work.
Local Inventory System creates and places a XML document into the web servers FTP folder called /incoming
The remote website runs a CRON script that parses and imports the XML document to the web servers MySQL database.
The remote website displays the remote inventory with images, text and descriptions like a conventional shopping cart. Visitors have the ability to purchase the items online. If a purchase is made an XML document is placed in the /output folder that's read by a local CRON job and the inventory system is updated to show the sale based on the SALE XML document that's read in the /output folder.
This is not an overly complicated project, however I want to work with someone who's intelligent and well versed with PHP and MySQL. Most importantly I'm looking for someone who's familiar with shopping cart systems and XML.
I will only communicate with you if your feedback is excellent and you've written a unique message. DO NOT paste the same old message you post in everyone's in-box trying to get my attention. If you can help me, write to me, tell me how you think you'll handle my project. Otherwise I'll ignore your copy and paste bids!
Using Freelancers API - we have created a system to detect copy & paste messages. If you are not communicating with us by writing unique messages that involve our specific project your bid and messages will be automatically set to HIDDEN. This means we will not see your bid or read your message. So DO NOT write to us and paste the same message you've been posting in everyone's inbox. It doesn't work here!
