Hello, We have experince in search engines like google. We have a ready built spider for this running on windows which can update remote mysql database. But the tricky part is more the analyzing of pages, titles, keywords, body, etc. each word must be given a value, like the word "dog" if it apears in the title, start or end of a page it should get different values. After search engine runs through the database and finds the matching words, it must look into the cached files, although this is not always necessary, if you searched for "dog food" the words should be pharse the word index could tell us that both words apear in the same page but it could not tell us the location, so we need to look into the source of the page. Lastly these results must be sorted to allow the most likely page apear first in the list. Keeping cache of pages is very important, it gives the chance to rebuild the index without spidering. Although the spider should visit pages at set intervals to update itself and also add new content when they apear.
