Connect Magento to Dotcloud database

We have a magento hosted by Hostgator and we need to connect that to a database in Dotcloud server.
I assume our developer used Node.JS to create the API, but, Im not sure.
This connection can be done in local machine, but when we take it to live host it doesnt work.
Please let me know if you can help me with this project.
All the API documents and other relevant ones are ready to transfer upon your acceptance.
