189455 ASP .Net SQL Pilot Project

We are a small two man company wishing to build a web tool to allow our users to process search requests and registrations. We do have experience in classic ASP development but wish to build a web tool using ASP .Net 2.0. As we are busy running our business therefore we are looking for cost effective development that would fit a small company budget. As we are new to outsourcing development, we are suggesting to create a paid pilot project so that we can experience outsourced development and get a sense of the quality, cost and time. The pilot project would be to take one process (Ontario Search Request) and pilot this process from beginning to end. Pilot would paid using scriptlance processes. If the pilot is successful and the estimated forecast is reasonable, we would pursue completing the project with the chosen outsourced vendor. This pilot is estimated to be 25% of the entire project. I myself am a project manager with PMP certification and have completed the detailed requirements for the project. My brother will be the subject matter expert and has over 10 years experience in the business we are attempting to web enable. The scope deliverables of the pilot will be as follows; • ASPX Pages o Login page o Home page o Master menu page o Search Request Entry page for four sub-processes o Search Request Edit page o Search Request Delete page • Database with following tables o User table linked to aspnet_Users o Customer table linked to user table o Search Request table o List/Lookup table containing data for various list data We would want to test the pages before signing off and can create test scenarios for testing purposes. Out of scope for the pilot; • Style/themes Assumptions • Web tool built in ASP .Net 2.0 • Backend built in SQL Express • Use developer's ASP .Net experience to provide best use of ASP .Net controls/components • Design of tool must NOT be complex as we will need to maintain the tool and are not fully experienced ASP .Net developers I hope we have given you enough information as an introduction and look forward to your response.
