Why you should use exim Exim / Dovecot / ClamAV / SpamAssassin as email server ? because that very old school.... i prefer to you for use Zimbra Open Source Edition as Email Server and Scrollout for antispam Server. and all this, already have powerful management console to manage your email server. i'm very great for this things.... you never disappointed for any advice from me about email server. and this is my answer for your question : 1. Spam: How to detect abuses and how to block an IP : this can be done by scrollout as antispam and antivirus sever. 2. Virus: How to detect a virus : this can be done by scrollout as antispam and antivirus sever. 3. How to send/receive emails from Gmail via Socketlabs. if you need this for blasting email, we can configure relay on email server to send / receive from socketlabs. but for receive flow... it's depend on your MX Records. 4. How to maintain antivirus and spam filtering rules. : it's very simple to maintain from scrollout via web browser. 5. How to create, delete, limit email accounts. it can be done from zimbra administration console via web browser. 6. How to know if you are on a black list. : we have monitoring tools to check your ip is clean or bad. 7. How can I delete emails or avoid saving emails on server. : it can be done using retention policy from zimbra or we can create a rule from each mailbox
