River Rat Project

I am assisting a resort with rebranding and refreshing the park graphics & signs. We are focusing on a Polynesian/Hawaiian theme. I need to develop a number of “Rat” mascots (since visitors to the Colorado River are known as River Rats) as well as a couple of "Tiki’s" The two rats should look alike…but be different, maybe white hair for girl and grey for the boy (1) Female Rat in short "board shorts" or a grass hula skirt -Need 4 poses: pointing either left or right, one with arms crossed, one running giving “Shaka” and one with an umbrella drink -Must be wearing oversized feminine Sunglasses -Cute but “edgy" (it is a family resort with a young demographic) (2) Male Rat in long “board shorts” and a Hawaiian shirt -Need 4 poses: Pointing left or right, one with arms crossed, one "getting air” on a wakeboard giving "Shaka" and one with a hamburger it hand -Must be wearing oversized masculine sunglasses -I thought we could have one of the ears notched or torn a bit (boys play rough) I’ve attached an image “River Rat” that shows kind of what we are looking at as edgy; however this is too flat for the client, and the tennis shoes do not fit the resort theme. (Basically a competitor using free clip art.) Also attached is an image “Tiki 1” showing the style we are aiming for. We need this in a Illustrator CS6 compatible format In addition to the Rats We would like to develop two Tiki Characters to complement the Rats. Kind of like the attached as a design direction (we can add text elements in-house) need one masculine and one feminine. I would like to get a rough price and turnaround for this project.
