Re-imagined online book reader focused on beautiful design

We're looking for someone/some-people (developer + designer) that can create an online book reader from scratch.

We're looking at taking a particular set of books and transforming the online reading experience. When we read specific great works like The Odyssey or The Great Gatsby, the experience of reading it is standardized through apps like Kindle. You can change the font and font size, spacing, etc., but there's not much else to it.

We want to make the reading experience for a particular set of books more transformative, primarily through great design. For instance, if you're reading The Odyssey, perhaps the margins of the page replicate Greek art, chapter fonts are in ancient Greek-like text, and there's a quote from the chapter right below the title. Perhaps when you read 1984, the design of every page seems dystopian and surveillance state-like. In terms of design, reading these books should instill a sense of theatre and occasion, and these designs should unsurprisingly be custom per book.

We also want to make the experience transformative through great tools that outdo normal e-readers, such as having an audiobook feature with different reciters. We also want to embed social sharing and other virality hooks. And every book will have an interactive element - for instance, if we have a self-help book available for readers, perhaps readers can join a 6 AM group chat everyday where people can discuss what they're trying to accomplish for the day. The meditation app Headspace does Group meditation as a way to encourage habit-building - we're attempting to do the same with reading our specific set of books.

We have a vision laid out, but the roadmap and specifics for features are yet to be finalized. We plan on utilizing HTML5 for its value and ability to modify books and features over time, with a significant focus on the mobile experience.
