Create a new WordPress theme based on a screenshot of the design.
The website will consist of a home page and follow up pages. The follow up pages will simply be the same header & footer from the home page but an empty content block in the middle (feel free to put some Lorem Ipsum filler text on some of the pages).
Header
The header consists of the logo, name of the website, button with a link (link can just be # for now), a header image (slider) and a navigation bar with menu items.
The logo will be provided later, the name of the website is NETWORK NOORD (see the exact colors in the provided screenshot).
The menu items in the yellow bar should link directly to corresponding pages (please create the pages in WP-Admin).
Content home page
The homepage has a left and right column. The left panel should be 6 blocks, 2 per row. Each block has an image, a title, and some descriptive text that shows when you hover over with your mouse. These blocks link to the pages from the menu when you click on them.
1) Create the blocks and make sure we can change the images in WP-Admin somehow
2) Create the hover over function, the text that shows on hover should be set in WP-Admin per page
The links to the pages are as follows:
Block 1: Marketplein links to page “Markt” from the menu
Block 2: Banenplein links to “Banen” from the menu
Block 3: Kennis-/Innovatieplein links to “Kennis-/Innovatie” from the menu
Block 4: Startersplein links to “Starters” from the menu
Block 5: Raadhuisplein links to “Raadhuis” from the menu
Block 6: Cultuurplein links to “Cultuur” from the menu
The right panel of the homepage has 4 parts.
The first, called “LAATSTE NIEUWS” is simply the last 4 posts from WP-Admin (only need date and title). The second is a newsletter, just use a plugin to obtain name & e-mail address from the form The third is an EVENT list. The date and name of the event should show, use any EVENT plugin. The fourth is a Linked-In “Follow” block. Use a widget or plugin.
Underneath this is a yellow block that should be able to have 2 embedded video links (Vimeo or U-Stream).
Footer
The footer should just be 3 blocks of content that we can manage as you can see in the screenshot.
