Looks up stock (ETF) information and put into Excel

JOB SUMMARY In short, the job is to find all of the 2x leveraged and 3x leveraged USA ETF ticker symbols, and then fill in info about them in the attached spreadsheet. You can see how the total amount of work involved by looking for a) how much data needs to be entered about each ETF in the attached spreadsheet and b) finding the total number of 2x and 3x ETF pairs that exist on [login to view URL], because this job is to exhaustively enter data for all listed on that website. SAMPLE SPREADSHEET All details can be seen in the attached spreadsheet, which I've filled in for the first section as an example of how it should be done. Please take note of the comments in the spreadsheet, as the file is meant to do all the explaining. All info can be gathered from [login to view URL] finance pages (like this: [login to view URL]). If you prefer to use another website, that's fine, as long as it's reliable. Just tell me the other website if you use another one. I need someone to continue until the entire worksheet is filled with all 2x,-2x and 3x,-3x ETFs covered which are listed on [login to view URL] The data I have filled in the sample spreadsheet is not all necessarily accurate, so please go through and correct it. I tried to show somewhat realistic values. MOST COMMON CASES The most common pattern you're filling in is 3 ETFs at a time, like: 1x, 2x, -2x OR 1x, 3x,-3x In some cases, the same 1x ETF ticker is shared. e.g., like in the sample spreadsheet SPY is the same 1x ticker for its 2x and 3x pairs in the first two sets of columns. In that case just copy/paste SPY again like in the spreadsheet. LESS COMMON CASES In some cases there are multiple ETFs that are essentially duplicates that go by different tickers. This is the case with UPRO and SPXS, for example. In the attached spreadsheet you can see how it should be handled (i.e., all should go in the same section as 1x,3x,3x,-3x because UPRO and SPXS are both 3x versions of SPY, so both should be included. TO AVOID COMPLETELY OR UNLESS NEEDED If you run into a case where you have a 1x, but then only a 2x match exists and no -2x to be a perfect match, then please put the next closest match. In other words you could do something like this, only if it's a last resort because a perfect match doesn't exist: 1x, 2x,-3x All groups of ETFs should start with 1x leverage ETFs. I don't wish to include any -1x ETFs at all in this job at all. ENSURING A CLOSE OR PERFECT MATCH Yahoo finance > profile > "fund summary" tells you what index the ETF follows. By reading this that is how you know whether a 2x or 3x is a close or perfect match, e.g., they all follow the S&P 500 index. It's not one follows the S&P500 index, while the other follows the Nasdaq 100 index. This is where the "Perfect match?" field comes in - if it's a perfect match put "yes"; otherwise explain why it isn't perfect and use as close to perfect a match as you can find. OPTIONS Part of the data gathering is to see if (yes/no) each ticker has options. You can also find this at Yahoo: E.g., [login to view URL] If you aren't familiar with options, here are some notes: - Nearest ATM put option strike price: This is the strike price closest to the last ticker's closing price and below it. - Nearest ATM put option expiration date: Once you find the strike price in the previous step, then find it for the nearest expiring date to today's date. - Nearest ATM put option OI: Take note of the count of open interest "OI" for the option you've specified (strike price and expiration date combination). - Shotest option interval? This isn't a field you can copy...you'll just have to look at the different expiration dates and note whether, by looking at them, they're each week, bi-weekly, or monthly. Just look at the next 3 months or so to see this. If you go way out into the future the intervals can change, so ignore those way out ones.
