I have written code in C++ to manipulate sound files eg perform Fourier analysis in frames, filter frequencies, shift phase (for LCRS surround sound), recombine using windowing techniques so I'm familiar with the maths, the DSP techniques and the software objects that get used. I also have basic familiarity with DirectX so in principle I should be able to help you. I'm not certain exactly what you mean by modelling sound systems. I'm sure if I can get to a clear understanding of exactly what's involved I could let you know definitively what it should cost. The bid I've made is within the stated limit but it does sound like it would be difficult to do a professional job in such a technical area for under $500. I'll happy to look at it again when the spec is clearer.
