Firstly many thanks for taking the time to consider my application for your advertised freelance post.
I am new to this game and still finding my feet in the wacky world of freelance writing but I am eager as a beaver to get my teeth stuck into a new and exciting challenge.
Back in my teens I studied Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University where I discovered that words were my friend and that writing came easier to me than I had ever expected. I guess there is nothing like the old cliche, love what you do, and I love writing.
I have dipped my toes a few times into the blog writing world, most recently my blog, From Scotland With Love, which has documented the Refugee Crisis on the Greek island of Kos since September last year, has been widely read and shared around the globe.
I am now looking for opportunities to write content, articles and blogs in my spare time to earn money so I can continue to stay in Greece and support the humanitarian efforts here without going completely bankrupt.
I hope you appreciate my honesty and my tale about my life so far. I have a very flexible schedule and can commit to writing for up to 30 hours a week. I am not in this for the megabucks and as a newbie I appreciate all reasonable offers for my work.
I read your ad and I feel like I may be a great fit. I can write up to 3000 words a day, I am interested in blog, article and travel writing and happy to negotiate a price per 500 words.
Many thanks for your time, Mhairi.
