Build Custom Asset Hierarchy Visualforce Page

We would like to create a custom visualforce page that displays an Account's associated [login to view URL] page must be able to display parent and child assets. A user should be able to access the page by clicking a url button on the Account page that takes them to the VF Page. The parent assets on the VF Page should have an expansion symbol so that when clicked, the child assets should be displayed or hidden. The table columns must be sortable. There should also be a picklist field that can filter the list of assets by 'Status'. The finished project should include a Visualforce Page & The Apex Controller.
