Apple Quartz Composer is a Mac-based development environment whereby data is passed between patches, processed, and ends up being rendered as OpenGL graphics. However, whilst the format is highly supported on Mac OS X, there is no way to replay these "compositions" on Microsoft Windows platforms. To perform a "QTZ" composition, the playback system must read a highly-structred XML file, create instances of each patch (a collection of approx 20 or 30 standard classes), create connections between these objects, and begin rendering into an OpenGL context, handling a regular rendering timer, passing data between the patches and ensuring the OpenGL state doesn't get corrupt.
The Apple Quartz Composer source code is proprietary and closed, however the format of the QTZ compositions is very open, and is easily reverse-engineered. I have already got a considerable amount of work completed in this respect, and I will provide a detailed specification to help the developer flesh out this work, should the bid be successful. I need a talented OpenGL Windows developer who is willing to take up the challenge of implementing a subset of Quartz Composer playback functionality in a Windows app, and am looking to solicit bids on this sort of work.
I should state that at this stage the project is not definitely going ahead, however the outcome of the bidding process will strongly influence it's success, and this is the reason I am opening this for bids on this web site.
