Create a Voice Recognition Webpage for pronunciation practice

Hello, We are an on-line Open Educational Resource (OER) project that is attempting to create post-secondary OERs in language learning. In order to assist students who do not have access to colleagues or native speakers, we would like to create automated web pages that are self-sufficient (with the exception of an external voice engine) and that are capable of providing some level of feedback for the student as to their improvement in pronunciation skills. We are looking to create a reusable webpage template that: • Embeds a language selection tool that will be hidden in the webpage, (a field or text parameter) so that multiple languages can be used from the same template. (this field will select the language for voice recognition – Standard abbreviations could be used EN – ES – FR, etc.) • Displays area for a one sentence TEXT under 256 characters which will be read and used in final comparison as the key. This text will be embedded by us in the individual page and students will progress from page to page) • Has a way to activate a free on-line voice recognition system/resource capable of supporting multiple languages (eg. English, Spanish, French, German, etc… as per the code embedded in the web page). And a way to deactivate after finishing reading the above TEXT and turn off recognition, retrieve the resulting text as heard by the engine, and • Has a text area which will be populated by text recognized via voice recognition so user can compare the sentence displayed and the sentence heard by the engine. Highly desirable, but not mandatory: • Some form of evaluating the similarity of the original key text and the resulting engine generated result so that a scoring system/rating could be generated and displayed. Alternatively, if functional, once a criteria is passed the student would be redirected to the next page in the exercises. While we can only pay in the form of a minute stipend, we would prefer to have someone donate their skills and time to our project. Due to the open nature of the tool, we would ensure that anyone who uses the tool would see a prominent link crediting your work and linking to your website/promotional page. Additionally we will create similar citations in our existing and future courseware, essentially this tool will be released under Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC-SA and we will ensure that you get all credit for creating it.
