Part I: This project is quite simple. I need the company websites for the company's listed in the far left column under company name. If you are unable to find a company's website just based off of its name, try using the data in the other fields like its industry, primary business, and address, etc. All in all, I need you to place the company's website including the "http://" in its corresponding column "Website". For example: the company name "Energy Source, Inc", its corresponding company website is: "[login to view URL]" Part II: With the same workbooks, I need the coder to find the name of each companies Founder or Owner or President or CEO. I need the full name of the person in charge and email address if it is easily found. Create a new column in each tab called "Full Name" that includes salutations like Dr. I will need this search completed for every tab in each work book. So for this part, I need the full name of the person in charge of the company "CEO or Owner or President or Founder" for each tab. As for the first part of this project, the websites were already found for the tabs not labeled "List 1 for intern" or "List 2 or intern", this section will require you to find the names of the people in charge of the companies in every tab. ## Deliverables 1) You must have the company website and the name of the person running the company (CEO/President/Owner/Founder) for every company listed for every tab in each workbook to receive full payment. If it is not possible to find the website of a company or the name of the person in charge of it, you may move on to the next company. 2) The workbooks have to be in the same format that you received them in and able to be opened on my computer. 3) I will spot check a group of them on each tab and check for accuracy. If they are not accurate, I will not accept the work. 4) Include the person in charges email if it can be easily found on the company's webpage. Add another column to the spreadsheets for this called "Email". You are not required to find their email addresses though. 5) The project must be completed by the deadline or I will be forced to terminate the project. Steps and a simulation of how to do this project is listed below. Please follow the directions in the simulation, it will save you alot of time and help you get the hang of the project faster. Good Luck. Directions to Part 1: If you would like to see how this is done properly, look at the tabs that are already completed where the websites are already entered like in "List 1" in any of the excel files attached. There will be 5 workbooks attached, one for each state (OK, North Texas, MO, AR, KS). Within each workbook, the only tabs I want you to work on are labeled "List 1 for Intern" and "List 2 for Intern" and "List 3 for Intern". For example, within the workbook "OK", there are four tabs, and you only need to work on "List 1 for Intern" and "List 2 for Intern" You do not need to do anything the tabs: "List 1" and "List 2" or "List 3". Once you've completed finding all of the websites necessary, send them back to me in the same Office Excel 2003 or 2007 format. If you are unable to find a website, simply write "N/A" Helpful Steps: 1) The best way to go about starting this project would be to search for the company names in google and verify that you found the correct company. 2) You only need to verify that you found the right company on google when there are many companies with the same name that come up when you search for it on Google. 3) To verify that you have the right company, click the "Contact Us" link that can be found pretty easily on most webpages, and just see if the addresses match up or are similar. 4) Once you've found the company, copy the website address (URL) into the spreadsheet under the column "Website". Note: You will only need to paste the company websites in the tabs that haven't had them added already labeled "List 1 for intern", "List 2 for intern", or "List 3 intern". So you only need to add the websites to the tabs that are not titled "for intern". 5) Once you've added the website link under the "website" column for the corresponding company. Now search that website for the full name of the company's founder/owner/CEO (Chief Executive Officer)/President. Once you find the full name, add 3 columns to the spreadsheet for each tab labeled, "First Name", "Middle Name", "Last Name". It may be easier for you to use Excel's Text-to-Columns feature to seperate the names after you find them all. It's your choice. 6) This can sometimes be found easily on the website under the links "About Us" or "Management Team" or "Our Story" or "Company History". These are all good places on a company's website to find the person's name who is in charge. 7) If you are unable to find the name of the founder/owner/CEO (Chief Executive Officer)/President on the website, you can go ahead and search for the name on [login to view URL] and search by typing queries like "Company Name" CEO or "Company Name" President. Google will then look for webpages that list the CEO or President of that particular company only. Sometimes this will be a time consuming process, as it can be tough to find a website that lists the full name of the boss. Simulation: 1) Open up the workbook "[login to view URL]" and go to the first tab labeled "List 1 for intern". 2) Go to Google search bar and enter the first company listed under "Company Name". The first company listed is "Mental Health Association Of South Central Kansas" 3) After you've entered "Mental Health Association Of South Central Kansas" into your browser, click the Google Search button. 4) Select the link that looks like it fits the company the most. In this company's case, the website was "[login to view URL]" 5) Now copy the website you found: "[login to view URL]" into the spreadsheet under the column "Website" next to the corresponding company "Mental Health Association Of South Central Kansas". 6) Once you've added the website address to the excel file, now look for the the full name of the person in charge of the company. 7)Since this particular company's website doesn't mention the name of the person in charge, go to google. com and type "Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas" founder. 8)The first link that showed up looks promising, so select it. It took you right back to the company's website, but it said "founded" meaning that the founder can be found on that webpage. Now search the page by clicking Control + F on your keyboard and type in "found". This brought you to the sentence where it says that the company was founded by "Clifford W. Beers". Take this name and add it to the excel file in a column that you insert by clicking Control + I on the column next to "Website" three times. 9) Now label the columns "First Name", "Middle Name or Initial", and "Last Name". Then take the owners name and place it in these columns corresponding to the right company. 10) Under the column "First Name" you would enter "Clifford". Under the column "Middle Name" you would enter "W". Under the column "Last Name" you would enter "Beers". 11) If you are unable to find the name easily through google, try going to the site "[login to view URL]". This site will tell you who registered the company's website name. To use this site, you have to copy the company's website that you find without the .com or anything after. For example for the company website "[login to view URL]" you enter "[login to view URL]" into the WHOIS Lookup blank. Use the drop down box right next to it to change the ending from .com to .net for this website. As you can see, this particular company website was registered properly and lists the address, phone number and other data and the name of the person who registered the site. Sometimes the person who registered the site will be the same person who is the founder/CEO/President/Owner of the company. For this company, the name "Chuck Peterson" is listed. For exercise sake, type in Chuck Peterson "Mental Health Association Of South Central Kansas" into your browser. As you can see Chuck Peterson is not the founder or the boss, because we already know that Clifford is from what we found earlier. The "[login to view URL]" will only work sometimes, but it is still a helpful tool. 12) Once the name has been entered correctly, move on to the next company and repeat this process for each tab in each workbook. This will be a time consuming project, but it gets really simple once you get the hang of it. ## Platform Microsoft Office Excel 2003 or 2007 for Windows.
