My translation of your sample texts should be enough to determine whether I am up for the task. Based on your specification I think that I can complete the translation within a month (two and half week at earliest). Bid price includes research (so that I am familiar with the subject) and follow-up service.

I have translated your sample (see PM). I am still to get used to the film making terminology, but I have read Hamlet a few times and watched several film adaptions myself. For a reasonable translation, I need time. I have no idea, how other bidders could manage the same amount in 7 days. As for my bid, I think that a rate of under 0.06$/word is more than reasonable. A few words about myself. I am a native German speaker, but have been living in English speaking countries for almost 10 years now, claiming awards for my undergraduate essays (in English, of course). I have done several translation jobs, some here on freelancer, but none quite as big as this project. As German is well known and feared for its run-on sentences (Philosophy students dread translations of Kant), some sentences will need to be split, others need extra structuring to read well in English, as in the last sentence of your sample. Having samples from all bidders will hopefully allow you to choose the best translator for your needs. I would enjoy working on this project. Best regards, Severin
