Custom software to talk to existing hardware

Hi, my name is Boris and I'm Canberra educated software engineer, running my own business back in Europe. I've been working with various platforms and components, and I got hardware engineer in my own team who can definitely help out. I'm a little anxious to find out what hardware are you talking about and actually working on it if it's completely custom piece, without being able to physically access it. Hi. I have lot experience integrating data from devices into customers database. I have developed interfaces to and from: Automatic Teller Machines (ATM), Weigh Balances, Incognto provisioning systems, data logger via rs232, USB, Parallel Port, Security alarms, analogic PBX, etc. I have lot experience decoding or interpreting the diferent procotols every device uses to comunicate. If there is not documentation available, I use a decoding aproach via sniffing the media or channel, or using "use cases". Please let me know what type of device you got.
