Desktop App to improve (Adobe Air)

I have a Desktop app which is written in Adobe Air (HTML, javascript...) The app needs some improvements and security.

For example:

1- The data comes from postgresql and I have already written the script to prepare the sqlite db. But I need a script to crypt the picture files for example. The script will cut some data from the pic file and put it into the db. Then when needed the app will merge two datas and show the pic. Same for some pdf files... Or a better idea?

2- Secure the code and the db...

3- Make the install process faster

4- Better update logic

5- The app uses some old version of Air. Update it and use the new features etc..
