2. The report must be between 2,500 and 7,500 words (excluding Appendix). 3. As with weekly homework, you must create your own tables based on SPSS output. The original SPSS output should be included in the appendix. Include a footnote for the table that you have created to give the page number in the appendix where the original SPSS output can be found. 4. The report must be focussed on some research questions. It should not be an unorganized presentation of SPSS outputs. You can use material from your previous reports for the final report. However make sure that the final report is not merely a compilation of individual reports. It must be coherently organized and clearly written with a strong focus. 5. Your report must include the following a. Introduction In the introduction write about the topic you are interested and are going to investigate. The purpose of the introduction is to introduce the topic and set the stage for what is going to happen in the rest of the paper. b. Data and methods Give a description of the data you are going to use for the analysis. Start by summarizing about survey design, sample selection and data collection strategies used to collect data (summarize the key points, no more than couple of paragraphs). Then describe your data. The purpose of the description is to present important characteristics of the sample data and not necessarily related directly to your topic. This is to give the readers an idea about your data. Finally mention the methods (two sample, annova, regression etc.) that you will be using to analyse the data. c. Findings Present your findings here. You don’t need to present all the analysis that we covered. Pick and choose the analysis that is helpful in answering your research questions But you must have report some descriptive statistics (such as means, % , cross tables, etc.), an analysis comparing two groups or more than two groups (at least one of the following: two sample, ANNOVA, chi-square). Finally present findings from correlation or regression. When presenting the findings make sure to interpret the findings and tell you in own words what they mean. You might come up with your own explanations to make sense of the findings (no need to review literature) . d. Conclusion It is a summary of what you intended to find out in your research and what you found. If you think there are some unanswered questions remaining you can mention them for future research. This section should not be more than 4 paragraphs. You can use material from your previous reports for the final report. You will be graded on the following 1. Analysis Ability to choose the right methods for the research questions and make judgments and draw appropriate conclusions based on the quantitative analysis of data, while recognizing the limits of this analysis 2. Interpretation Ability to explain information presented in output correctly and clearly. 2. Communication Expressing quantitative evidence in support of the argument or purpose of the work. I’ll also look at presentation of the material both text and tables. Marks will be given for clarity of presentation, organization, logical flow of the paper etc.
