Book store pricing program
$500-5000 USD
Pagado a la entrega
What we would like is program that talks to Amazon to retrieve pricing data and other relavant information? about a specific item in real time.? There are some other small requirements to ensure we are getting the correct data. This price data needs to run through a mathematical formula to return a "we-will-pay-this-amount " value. We also need a local database that can supercede any Amazon data so that we can specify our own value.
?
Every transaction needs to be recorded into a database.
Every transaction needs to be modifiable based on the condition of the item.?
?
Ultimately we would like a couple of different User interfaces. The ability to print out a receipt would be nice.
?
We would also like to be able to download the days data in a CSV or Tab deliminated file to be used with another program (perhaps in a couple of different formats).
?
Long term we would like to add this program to a website.? More details upon completion? of a non-disclosure document.?
?
We require a non-disclosure document and would prefer a non-compete as well. We need to own the source code, this is non-negotiable
## Deliverables
Hi,
We are an online used book dealer who is trying to expand our purchasing capacity.
What we would like is program that talks to Amazon to retrieve the title, value (first 5 or 10 lowest used and/or new prices? Among other data.), and sales rank. We have found some anomalies that would require work arounds so that we can get the correct data.
The value shown would need to run through a little formula to return a Paid Price to the customer based on both value and sales rank.
For example:
A book valued at $50 with a sales rank of 1-50,000 would return a Paid price of $27.50 or 55% of the value.
The same book with a higher rank 50,001-100,000 would return a paid price of $25.00 or 50% of the value.
Etcetera.
?
We need the ability to modify this formula based on the value of the item.
For example:
A $20 or less value book with 1-50,000 rank now drops the paid price percentage to 35%.
?
Under $8 value books need yet another adjustment. For example a $5 book at 35% would return a $1.75, but we would only be willing to pay a maximum of $1.
(we can expand on this criteria later)
?
Every transaction needs to be recorded into a database.
Every transaction needs to be modifiable based on the condition of the item. Lets say we get an item that is water damaged and we want to remove it from the paid price total. Or another item is slightly damaged, but not bad enough to be rejected totally, but is bad enough to be discounted in value.
?
Ultimately I would like a couple of different User interfaces. One interface that is very fast with the title of the item and a Yes or No result (no choice), and no other information. Imagine a sorting area where an item either meets criteria or it doesn't. Behind the UI the program is keeping track of the "paid price" value. We probably need to have a user login for each person, and of course administration access.
?
A second UI would show the customer the paid price value, title and a Choice of Agree or Disagree. Honestly I don't have this totally mapped out in my head just yet.
The ability to print out a receipt would be nice.
?
We would also like to be able to download the days data in a CSV or Tab deliminated file to be used with another program (perhaps in a couple of different formats).
Long term we would like to add this program to a website where the customers can send in their items postage paid and we would send them their payment by direct deposit or check (we've actually found a way to pay to a Credit Card too).
?
Like I say this is down the road since that type of program is? more complex. I'm bringing this up so that the program can be built in a way that we can add to it in the future.?
For this reason we are heavily leaning towards a web-based application vs. a desktop app. At this time we are open to suggestions and our budget may be the final determining factor.
?
We'd of course want a? non-disclosure document and would prefer a non-compete. We would also need to own the source code, this is not negotiable.
Thanks,
Mark
