Build a Website

I have had discussions with a few other developers who have serious misgivings about customizing the Skadate script into a "matrimonial" website - the kind I have in mind. I have the Indian market of a 128 million people in mind. In some ways, the site I have in mind is similar to "[login to view URL]", [login to view URL], or "[login to view URL]" - as far as the profile registration is concerned. However the similarity ends there, because I have a personality test which will help users choose partners through several combination of methods. The major limitations that I have been told are : 1) Skadate scripts allows limited customization of fields (For example in the Indian set up, the number of Castes or communities is more than 30 and this would be major limitation. 2) The number of concurrent users has a direct impact on loading time, In our case, we expect thousands of concurrent users - if what I heard is correct then Skadate may not be the right solution for us. 3) Skadate is feature rich - some of which we may not use (due to cultural as well as technical reasons). I hear that even if those features were disabled from the admin panel, we would still have issues with load time, UI's not working etc. If you have worked on Skadate, please let me know from a professional angle, what your thoughts are. Plan B would involve building the application from ground up on PHP/SQL. Once I hear from you, we can take this project up to the next level depending on how we agree on the solution, deliverable and cost.
