I am looking for someone to build a Directory website for Backpackers in Australia. By this I mean an accommodation website for backpacker, hostel businesses etc I am open to suggestions on the layout and feel of the website as long as it has the features of a good quality accommodation guide. I have included some links to other Australian sites that have the same sort of concept. If you look at these and blend a few ideas into one site I think we would be on the way to creating a good website. [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] I would like to be able to list businesses myself through the back end CMS panel but would also like hostel type businesses to be able to create a profile and list their business as well through the front end. It would have to have Australian destinations already set up within the website plus I want to be able to add destinations that I come accross too. At some stage I would like to add a booking service to the site. By this I mean something similiar to the websites above that I provided links for. I dont want this website to be complicated. A smart easy layout that is not cluttered. I want to be able to see this website on your server up and running and work through any issues I come accross before I take control of it. Once I pay for it I want to be able to have this site on my webmasters server in Australia where I have some other sites as well. I will add more to this Project once I get some offers and ideas.

I have studied the reference sites and have also read your requirement overview. I am confident of delivering well. I also assure long term support for changes / enhancements needed in future (online booking facility etc.). I however prefer working to detailed specifications. I believe it is in our mutual interest to have a checklist of deliverables. Trying to clone sites without any reference document of your requirements is not advisable. So I request you to send detailed specifications (complete flow, functionalities, fields). I will give my inputs/ suggestions based on my experience. The specifications will help me to assess scope of work more precisely and I will revise my placeholder bid accordingly. It will help if you also indicate your max. proposed budget. Hello there, English webmaster here. I would build the site on a Content Managment System (CMS) to make it easy for you to add and edit the pages. I have been using Joomla CMS for over 5 years and have built over 50 sites with it. I would build in a "directory" app which will then allow you to add listing - example Hostels then you would be able to have as many custom fields as you need such as Name/address/logo/room rate etc etc. The user of the site would then be able to search the directory and of course leave booking messages. The site would be fully linked to Facebook and Twitter so any new properties will be automatically published to Facebook and Twitter with also the ability on each page to have Facebook comments and of course "Likes" I have excellent communications skills and also speak in perfect English (because I am English) so there will be no lost in translation problems here. I have no problems being contacted on Skype or on the phone for discussions. I have done a few sites for Australian clients before and found it very easy to get things done with them.
