autoscroll comboboxes

Enclosed is a sample autoscroll combobox project I am working on. All I need is the function that returns a number for matching items. The example included has these words on the list. Apple Apricots As Ask Asking Banana Bay Bee Behave If a person types a, then first the function should return 0 because the first letter typed matches the first letter of the word. If the second letter typed was t then it would return -1 because there are no words that start with at on this list. If the first three letters typed was apr then it would return 1 because those are the first 3 letters for the word apricot. What this is for is so when someone chooses something from the combobox, the item would automatically be selected instead of hitting the down arrow first. I already have the code for selecting the item. I just need the function completed so it would return the number so the correct item would be selected. Even if other words were added to the list, it must work with those as well.
