Auto Confirm Email Confirmation - PHP

I need an auto email confirmation PHP Script. ? This program will need to be able to? receive? 1000s of emails via pop3, and open the confirm link inside the email body so that the email sender knows that it was confirmed and then delete the email. ? This needs to be completely written in PHP to be hosted on one of our servers.
It will also need to be able to delete any "extra" emails that it? receives? that have nothing to do with confirming.
Some emails only have one link to confirm. ? Others have multiple links and the? script? would need to know to pick the right one.
