Community Portal Site

I wish to build a custom community site geared toward American entrepreneurs, including small business owners, freelancers, etc. This is NOT a simple clone of MySpace or other portals. Rather, it takes elements of various social network services, and combines them together in a unique and effective way. Users sign up for free. Their profiles display the following information: - Basic Info (name, location, etc.) - Companies (names, titles, and description) - Interests (books, music, etc.) Networking: Every user may "Network" with any other user. (Similar to adding friends on MySpace.) They may also invite friends to join the service, who will automatically be added to the user's network. Users can view how many friends they've invited, and who has joined. Content: - Blogs: Every user has their own personal blog. - Articles: Every user can write "articles," separate from blog entries, and sort them under custom-defined categories. - Forum: Every user can post in the community Forum. - Rankings: Live-updated rankings are shown across various categories. (Most blog posts, most articles, most invites, etc.) RSS: All articles and blogs should have RSS feeds. Design: I require that design be advanced, modern, and attractive. It shouldn't be overloaded with graphics, but at the same time should have extremely well-formatted text. Go to [login to view URL] for an example of the look and feel I'm talking about. Coding: - Joomla for overal site management. - Open-source backbone for all major components (forum, blogs, articles). I don't want to spend time and money writing code that's available for free. Advertising: Initially, we plan to use Google AdSense. This should be built into the site as effectively as possible. SEO: The developer is expected to optimize the site for SEO. Payment: (your choice) 1) 25% up-front, 75% at finish 2) 100% at finish, with 5% completion bonus Payment methods: escrow, paypal, western union. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 3) Programmer agrees that all work is done as a work-for-hire, and that ownership of all code will be transferred to the buyer upon completion. ## Platform PHP, MySQL, etc. We will provide you with a Unix-based server to install the project.
