My courier company website requires a parcel tracking system. Customer point of view: They have a 6 letter code they can enter in a box on the website and they will see in what stage the parcel is in (in warehouse, in transit, delivered or something else). Company point of view: Some sort of a solution that can be accessed on a mobile phone (Samsung - android) where I can change the status of the parcel easily - perhaps with a drop-down selection or radio button selection and then save. I don't know how you can do it but I guess it requires some sort of a database. I need to have easy web based access to that to edit it on a PC and mobile. The database should have more capability than just the tracking code and status. but also additional comments I can add myself, and a picture I can upload to it. I am not in a hurry but hope to get it done in time, I hate delays. The server the website (domain) is hosted is capable of all scripts and databases.

You will have a admi login where you can enter parcel number and its status and update it any time. That interface will also be accessible from mobile devices via web browser so you can easily update status on the go. Do you have any front-end site already where we will add a textbox for users?

Hello. I will create this tracking system using PHP & MySQL. It will have all features required: tracking status, comments, pictures, user and admin access. It will be compatible with PC and mobile phones. Admin will be able to add new or choose existing parcel and set it's status using radio buttons.

I have already designed an order tracking software in php/mysql which has an option for the customer to login and check his order status. The company on the other hand can add/modify the orders and have a snapshot of the current open orders. I think if we can tweak the code to make it suitable to Courier tracking. For accessing the application through android is something that i need to check.
