Custom Multi Auction Site

Hi Web Developers, I am looking for a site to be developed with similar functionalties to Swoopo / GrabABid / RapidBargain / Bidz, but more. I will have an information architect produce the ideal layout based on my requirements for this - so a script that has been produced before will not do. + This needs to be a bepsoke, custom build*** I will only consider applicants that can either present a strong portfolio or a working example of something of a similar nature that they have done. The successful applicant should make themselves available on a regular basis throughout the project to keep me up-to-date. I will want to use 37Signals Basecamp as a project management method so that we can keep in contact and everything stays in one place. Here are some basic requirements of the site, I will release more specific details upon discussion with the applicants whom apply: Different Types of Bidding: - Swoopo style + The price of an item starts at zero + The auction has a pre-determined time limit on it's counter + Each time someone bids on an item the time limit for the auction goes up by a pre-determined amount + Also, when someone places a bid the price of the item goes up by a pre-determined amount + Both of these pre-determined amounts should be editable in the admin back-end - Ebay style + The price of the item starts at a pre-determined figure set in the admin back-end + Each item can either have a reserve or it can be set not to have a reserve price + There is a fixed pre-determined time limit on these auctions which doesn't change after it has started + The highest bidder wins the auction after the time counter expires - Reverse Auction: Time Limit + In the admin/back-end a price for a specific item is set, which isn't visible to the users + A pre-determined time limit is set for the auction, which is visible to the users + Users then place bids, and the user with the lowest unqiue bid wins the auction + If there isn't any unique bids, then the user whom bid on the lowest value first wins - Reverse Auction: Reserve + Same as the reverse auction above, except without a time limit + Instead, there is a pre-determined amount of bids which need to be made before the auction is over - Reverse Auction: Bid Limit + Same as the reverse auction: time limit, except there is only a limited amount of bids each user can bid on a specific item + The amount of times a user can bid on a specific item will be set in the back-end - Fixed price sale + I guess it would be the same as buying something off Amazon, as it isn't an auction with the price been fixed - On the auction listings there should be an option to 'watch' the auction, which then lists it on the users 'watchlist' My Account: - Within this area there should be: + Watchlist, showing the auctions which the user has shown an interest in - but isn't necessarily bidding on just yet + Bid List, showing the current situation on auctions which the user is currently bidding on + Bidding history, displaying both successul and failed auctions + Referrals, the user should be able to send off emails to their friends from here with the prospect of bonus bids if their friends sign up and purchase credits Auction Cash: - Each time someone places a bid in an auction in which they don't win, they earn 'auction cash', so that even though they lost their auction then any of the auction cash that they have earnt through their auction they can use to pay for some of the auction they win next - Successful bidders to win an auction do not receive auction cash for that particular auction that they won - There is to be a pre-determined 'day limit' on auction cash for when it will expire which should be able to be altered in the admin backend Autobid: - When a user purchases credits to bid on auctions there is to be a feature which they can use on the swoopo style auctions whereby they can enter in a specific amount of bids that they want to use and it will bid for them until one of two things have happened: + They have won the auction + They have run out of bids to use Auction Suggestion: - This can possibly be a simple form which basically would state that if the user would like to see a specific product up for auction then please fill out the form and it will be sent via email to the auction administrators & to the admin back-end Multiple Countries: - All of the items listed will be available to anyone in the world to bid on, so different currencies must be available - Must be able to detect which country the person is using the website from and display the appropriate currency and flag of nationality - If this cannot be done, then website should remember the users selection of which country they are from so that when they come back to the site they don't need to change the currency again Languages: - As this site will be open to many countries, the site should have the framework to be able to be translated into different languages - That's not to say that you need to do the translations yourself, a 3rd party company would handle this Email Notifications: - There should be email notifications for the following: + Verify email upon signing up + Recover password if cannot recall password + Watchlist auctions ending soon + Bid list auctions ending soon + Outbid notification + Successful auction win + Failed auction Form Spam Protection: - There should be form spam protection on the site, such as the CAPTCHA spam protection on forms that you see around whereby you need to enter in a randomly generated selection of letters or numbers to submit a form Ajax: - The successful applicant will be suitably knowledgeable with the use of Ajax and implement it accordingly within the site to minimise the users need to reload pages - I am open to suggestions with regards to the use of Ajax and what elements within the site will be involved Gift Vouchers / Discounts: - The site should be able to create & accept gift voucher codes for adding a pre-determined amount of bids to a users account - The site should be able to create specific gift voucher codes for adding a pre-determined percentage of the bids purchased to a users account Credit Cards / Payment Gateways: - The user should be able to pay for bids with at least the following methods: + Credit card directly from the site (site doesn't need to save the credit card info) + Paypal + Open to any other suggestions for payment Admin / Backend System: - I have very specific details with regards to my specifications for this, I will forward the details onto the applicants when they apply for this project Here are a few more details about the project in general: Payment: - The total project cost is negotiable, this is just an estimate of what I think it would cost to complete something like this - I will accept a staged payment made in phases throughout the web development process which can be discussed after I have chosen a suitable candidate to take on my project Timeline: - As this is a custom job and as such I expect complete professionalism when it comes to the methodology of the web development involved. As such I'm going to tenatively say 3 months to complete - If you think this is not enough / too much time then please let me know As I said above this is just a start on my requirements for this project.
