Create an Excel spreadsheet with built-in macros and forms.
The spreadsheet needs to call Amazon Web Services to retrieve catalog data from amazon through the REST interface (XMLs imported from the internet), based on simple input form another spreadsheet.
The results (product data and search results) must be aggregated and displayed in a userform.
## Deliverables
Workflow:
A. When main macro is run, a userform appears to ask the user what workbook the macro should work on and which 2 columns include the values Title, UPC, Platform. The target spreadsheet has multiple lines, each line represents a product, and each product has a field for Title, UPC and Platform.
B. The macro reads the data from the columns
C. The macro:
c1. Calls AWS ECS service and retrieves 50 search results (ItemSearch command) for every line in the spreadsheet (keywords = Title + Platform) for Amazon US and Amazon CANADA (the search is on the whole website, and it is not restricted to Videogames)
c2. Aggregates all search results across CA and US for each product based on the identifier "ASIN". If the same ASIN shows up in multiple results for the same product in CANADA and US, it is counted only once.
c3. For each ASIN, call, AWS ECS service to retrieve product information (ItemLookup command), including the URL of largest product image available if any
D. Display in the user form all results in this way:
Like an Access form, the UserForm displays results for one product (line in the target workbook) at a time. Buttons allow to move to the next or previous product.
Let's say we are on product A. The user form displays the aggregated list of the top 12 search results gathered from Amazon US and Canada. The aggregated list has no duplicate ASINs in it, and the rank is based on the sum of the individual rankings in Canada and US.
For each result displayed, what is displayed is the following information:
- the image of the ASIN
- the ASIN
- the ASIN title, platform, product group, brand, manufacturer, format, GTIN or UPC, part number
- if the UPC of the ASIN matches the UPC specified in the workbook for that product, there is a red box outline around the ASIN.
E. The user can then select one of the ASINs and click on button "Select duplicate"
E1. When this happens for the first time, the macro checks if the target workbook has a column which header (row 1) ="ASIN". if not, it creates one as Column A.
E2. After that, the ASIN of what the user has selected is copied in the cell (column A, the row depends on which product is being analyzed).
F. User closes the User Form
