Hi,
I am running a Redhat Enterprise 3.0 server (LAMP standard configuration) and I want to ban specific countries from accessing this server.
I think the best solution which offers best protection and highest performance would be using a IPTables-based solution (otherwise the serverload gets too high if every HTTP 80 request will result in some database-lookup..).
The problem: how to get rid of other accesses like users using some anonymous proxies etc.?
Please bid only if you have some experience with this topic and use the different techniques and already used some kind of ip-to-country databases etc.
Thanks for your help!
