**Summary**
I want to be able to logon a user at any time from a .NET Windows service. This .NET service that I have stores Windows usernames and password. At a certain time I need to perform some interactive tasks that requires desktop and user interface. In XP/2003 you should send CTRL+ALT+DELETE, followed by username, password to accomplish this. This does not work in Vista. In Vista we need to create a c++ dll and inject it to [login to view URL](?).
**Solution**
It seems, that the only way to do this is to create two components:
1. A c++ dll that is injected to [login to view URL](?)
2. A windows service that communicates with the injected dll
3. A .NET dll that I can add as a reference to my Windows service with appropriate with the below functions. This .NET dll communicates with your Windows Service. Appropriate communication between the .NET dll and the service is IPC/named pipes ??" not sockets.
If step 2 can be taken a way that would be great ??" so just the .NET dll speaks directly with the injected c++ dll.
A similar solution is already used by a product called LogonExpert. [[login to view URL]][1]
