I need a local chamber in teh US to have a web page with data driven access database capabilities. We need to do this in ASP.NET and make sure that the end user (the office) can access the data in the office via the web, but for special reporting, be able to download the actual mdb file from ftp and execute the file in a local level and generate reports etc. I am open to a better solution within the asp.net environment. A very important aspect is that this is going to be acting as an organization for many organizations. For example, several city chambers will be in this database. So we would need a field that distinguishes if it’s City A chamber, or City B chamber, etc. Then within those cities we need to keep track of those chambers members. A sample web based chamber site could be found at www.chambersouth.com. Please note that this is not the site that I want at all, it is simply a sample site so that you can get the look and feel of what I need, based on the Chamber sector. Member Listing Member listing should consist of all geographical data fields along with email, web URL, category, description of services, points, etc. A sample is something like this: [login to view URL];src=directory&dirtype=company Concierge We offer concierge services. An example is if we have an executive within the chamber that is out of town, they can call in and we can take care of what ever need they may have while they are away. Regardless if it’s landscaping, computer help, a plumber, or what ever service. The chamber will charge for this so we need generate a Concierge Services Sales receipt report so that we can send this to Accounting. This report should also be emailed to accounting and the client, along with the option to print it out. We would need a vendor table (which is fed from the member table). I guess its best to create a field in the member table labeled as concierge? I will leave this up to the programmer to automate it where it’s most efficient. We wouold need several reports under this category. Leads Once a week we meet and pass leads among the members that attend. So for instance, if a plumber needs a contractor to do a remodeling of a bathroom, the plumber will generate what’s called a lead. It’s also considered a point which will be discussed later. We need to keep track of all leads generated and generate screen and reports based on the leads. We should have drop down menus from the members and pick the person generating the lead, then do the same for the person receiving the lead. A total should be displayed in the report totaling the leads received, and leads given. This should be sorted in ascending order to see the top lead giver, and the top lead receiver. Web Based Product Listing We need to give all members a webpage similar to: [login to view URL];view=company&srctype=display&back=company&id=1610&sor=name&search=wilson&view=company&submenu=chamber&pos=0,20,2 Note that this is a sample only. Along with that, we need to give the chamber members the ability to upload an unlimited amount of product pictures where they can add their products and descriptions and price. Imagine a table with 3 cells. Cell 1 is the picture, Cell 2 is the description, and Cell 3 would be the price, along with an email link which basically will email them the picture along with the description on the body of the letter. We need to have an upload picture and be able to add as many products as the chamber member may need and have the ability to do description and price, etc. Also the email should be generated from the chambers table contact information. Attendance & Minutes We need to keep track of the attendance based on what ever activities are happening. When an activity happens, attendance needs to be taken with paper, and then inputted into this program. A thank you note email needs to be generated and sent to all attendees, along with the minutes that were taken. Points Points need to be added to any member that attended a special function or weekly meeting, or committee meeting, etc. Through the attendance module, if a member attended a function, they will automatically receive a point. The more points acquired the better spots they can have during a trade show event, or can be eligible for board member status. Committee’s Committee’s will be kept here. There are usually different types of committee’s. Business committee’s Military, Education, Sports, Governmental Affairs, membership, etc. Within this table, we need to generate a form and show all members that belong to this committee. We meet once a week of which minutes are kept. A minute log per committee needs to be also here. We need reports and screens for these. As a general rule, we should assume an average of 3 reports and screens along with the associated queries. Lunch Bunch Once a month, members are encouraged to meet and have lunch together. A monthly list is dynamically/randomly generated, and a team captain is chosen in random (or can be designated team captains). These teams which should be of 4 to 6 people will be emailed to the respective team members, and the team captain is responsible for the meeting time and schedule. Listings of restaurants should be generated also within the web page. This should be a table called Restaurants, where we will populate the restaurants listed based on what we enter in. If there are any member restaurants they should appear in bold to give them priority upon the restaurant selection. The lunch bunch table called Lunch Bunch should have the members coming from the members table. (Remember about the random list) we may have 20 to 1000 members in this chamber which will make this a little difficult to manage. We may need to have several captains, etc. Also we should probably have dedicated team captains which should be reflected within the members table. (Create a field called Lunch Bunch Captain) We should also have the flexibility to have a field in the Members table with a field called lunch bunch. This would mean that the member is interested in participating in this lunch bunch event. The point system should also be reflected here. Reports As a general rule, we should assume an average of 3 reports and screens along with the associated queries. Hi there. My name is Walter and I reside in California. I am the head of a software and web development company domestically. First thing I noticed about the pricing and the bidders is that unless you are outsourcing your project to India or Eastern Europe, I do not see how this project could be finished for under $300. It seems like you need a lot of functionalities and probably an interface that will tie your database and web application together for the search capability. From experience I must say the costs of such a task can be very steep, even higher than my current bid. If you value quality and keeping the lines of communication open at all time, then we should definitely discuss a potential joint business venture. But if you are looking for an inexpensive solution that might or might not work, for which accountability migh or might not be taken, then I wish you best of luck in your search. The only piece of information I need right now is the versions of your .NET, database, and any other relevant component that will take a role in this project. Thanks for reading. ~Walter
