converting 24bit to 8bit image at android

I want to make a simple app as follows;
1. android version : 4.0.3
2. model : pentech verison version ADR910LVW
function is;
1. catch raw image data from camera which is 24bit image
2. convert 24bit image to 8bit bitmap
3. save to temporary file.
4. simple viewing is required for test.
I need java source code for this very quickly.
