Android client - Visual Voice Mail using IMAP as the transport

We are looking for an individual (not agency) who can help us with an Android development project. We are a software company based in the UK. Normally, we would write an application such as this ourselves, but we have too much work on at the moment, and are looking for someone to assist us with this specific project. Also, there may be similar projects available in the future.

We are looking to keep the brief very simple. The project, developing a "Visual Voice Mail" Android client should be delivered to work with public standards,ie RFC3501 (ie IMAP4rev1). In particular, the client needs to work with Microsoft Exchange server (connecting as IMAP) and Google Apps mail (connecting as IMAP).

This is essentially a unified messaging client (aka Visual Voice Mail)

The client will be a standalone application that is basically a mail client, but that presents the contents of the Inbox in a style that is convenient for playing voice mail messages. Two folders need to be supported: Inbox and Trash. Initially, the application will just download the headers of new messages. The application should allow users to then Fetch (download the attachment), Play, Save or Delete messages. Only one attachment is possible per message. The format of the attachment is presently ADPCM/ulaw, but this format can be "discussed".

An options page will allow users to enter credentials (server, username, password, SSL option) and also whether they want to automatically "fetch" all attachments.

The application needs to written using proper [login to view URL] files so that we can translate into languages other than English. We would expect support for at least Google versions 2.3 through to 4.2, plus support for 4.x tablets. We have these devices for testing, but would also expect the developer to at least have v2 and v4 handsets, plus a tablet for development.

We're happy to answer all sensible questions, and also have a proper discussion with the chosen freelancer prior to commencing.
