I have a hopefully simple project for a freelancer.
I have an access database, and i want to be able to have an email table, which records the sent and recieved emails (and the email address of the account it came from) as well as any attachments.
Basically i will have a system which would have a ProjectID, so when the project is generated it would send an email to the client with the ProjectID, which is in the format of FYYMM-ID, i want the system to automatically read through outlook on the machine the database frontend is running on, or thunderbird as the case may be, and search for any emails which have that projectID in the subject line or body textm and insert the email information in the table.
The idea is basically when a user then goes to the database for that project, they can see a list of emails that relate to that project and if they were sent or recieved and who they were to, who they were from, the subject, a short body of the message and the recieved date. and if the text is clicked on, it pops up a subform with all of the information.
The system would need to record:
ProjectID, SentorRecieved, To, From, Date & Time, Subject, Truncated Message, Attachments
Need this to be a small budget <30 USD, I run MS Outlook (Exchange Cached Mode), MS Outlook (POP/IMAP), and Thunderbird (POP/IMAP)
The database is all in one at the moment, but i will eventually split it into frontends, and a master / central multi user backend so instructions on how to get your system to work on a split database would be fantastic!
