design a series of filters as described below. Apply each filter to the data in the file attached. For this signal you may want to plot spectrograms with the "axis ij" option.
1. Design a pair of windowed-sinc FIR lowpass filters using two different windowing schemes. Use the built in windowing functions and the built in filter routine. The pair of filters should both have a cut-off frequency of 0.7 of the Nyquist frequency (Fs/2).
A. Plot the PSDs of the results of the two filters on the same plot to compare the filter response. Use a legend and color to distinguish the two plots.
B. Plot the spectrogram of the result of each filter
C. Which filter is better and why?
2. Design an IIR filter of your choice using one of the many available built in Matlab routines. The filter should create a bandpass filter between 0.72 and 0.9 of the Nyquist frequency. You should design the filter to as cleanly recover the information content in the signal between the frequencies of approximately 0.72 and 0.9 of the Nyquist Frequency.
A. Plot the PSD of the result of the filter
B. Plot the spectrogram of the result of the filter
C. Show the z-Domain transfer function of the filter
D. How many poles and zeros are in your filter?
