Hello Daniel, It seems you basically need a GPS logger app with mac app frontend. This is an easy task with clear description, but I have few questions to make it more clear: 0. What is the purpose of this app? Who is your users? I can help better of I'll know you business task. 1. Will it work only on this particular iPad or others users will be able to download it from the AppStore? If so we'll need admin panel for this. 2. We can reverse geocode GPS coordinates from this iPad so next to map pi you'll see address (city, street, etc) 3. Server requirements also depend from how many users you'll have for this app, but my initial recommendation is to get simple cloud server for 5$/mo (like on DigitalOcean) and make simple php+mysql backend for it. I dont this things before, almost all modern apps need some sort of backend. 4. Do you want to export these tracks with GPS data somewhere? This is pretty easy task and will not take too much time. We'll split project into milestones, so you can track progress (I'm also available in all major IM (Skype, etc)) and feel safe to work with me for the first time since you don't need to pay for everything at once.
