The most popular solutions are Microsoft BI, QlikView and Tableau. I have been working with Microsoft BI solution for more than 5 years. It's very comprehensive and robust, but easy to use. It allows you to perform drill-down analysis ("run averages on the data for a specific defined age group or geneder") of your data directly in Excel.
