This project is in short an application that will be very similar to that of the Rino 530HCx from Garmin. The application will be used for team coordination for a paintball team.
The application must work on Android phone and must include the following features:
- GPS
- If possible a way to edit the map so that obstacles on the match field can be added.
- If possible a way for two-way voice communication using the Android phone through Bluetooth or WiFi technology.
- A way to mark terrain with to identity possible hostile terrain/player.
- A way to synchronize with other Android phones so that the synchronized parties know eachothers location.
- No use of mobile network connection.
- The application must work with 20 players that all synchronize eachothers location in real time with the above features.
- The application must be battery efficient and should run at least 3 hours with constant use and brightness set at 100%.
The final product should run perfect without any disturbance on this hardware:
800 Mhz QUALCOMM
384 MB RAM
2-4 GB HDD
Bluetooth 2.1
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n

If my requirements are too high or there are certain limits, feel free to describe what and how one would work around it. For example, is 20 players connected with wifi/bt having two-way voice communication really feasible or is one-way voice communication a possible option? Or maybe voice communcation should be dropped all together and an "red-cross" icon should be added on the screen instead so that player can tap it to signalize that he is in distress?
