Build a Website

The goal of this project is to reduce the load on our server and speed up our website so that we do not experience a crash during peak usage times during our selling season. Ideally, we would like to reduce the amount of plugins we use without losing functionality. Some issues we’ve experienced are: Huge amounts of javascript and css files load on each page Huge amounts of HTTP requests Website crashes when more than 8 people use it during the holidays Candidates should have: Expert level knowledge in PHP, Java, & CSS 3+ years experience creating and using child themes in WordPress 3+ years experience with WordPress, WooCommerce 3+ years experience with E-commerce development Ninja style site-speed optimization practices Additional e-commerce platform knowledge is a huge plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to be a team player This is a temporary contracted position. You must have your own computer, internet connection etc. We will require face to face meetings to initialize and complete the project, with the possibility for additional meetings and phone calls for the project duration to analyze progress and troubleshoot.
