Please look at the attached SWF animation first.
This animation is a general concept of what I need, but I need various changes. Where as this is a flash animation, I need to have this recreated as a program where each bead has logic that it adheres to. To be honest, I really have no clue what field of animation/programming/technology that I need to peruse to make something that I can export to Final Cut Pro where the elements have programmed rules and logic and behave independently on their own without direction, but that's what I need.
Once you have the logic of the beads written, they will have to behave in the context of several scenarios.
What I’m illustrating in this animation is what happens when a plant root gets too much of a certain nutrient (nitrogen in this instance) which is represented by the white beads.
What I need is a programmer who can create a program (or effect) that shows these beads realistically being absorbed by the root. Now in this animation, we can see that the colored beads are currently disappearing behind the white beads. These other colored beads represent the 12 other nutrients that plants absorb. In reality, we need those colored beads to get trapped by the white beads as more white beads and colored beads pile up on top of them.
I then need 70% of the colored beads that get trapped by the white beads to remain frozen where they are, locked in place, sort of encased inside the white beads, while 30% of the colored beads, “push” their way down through the white beads until they get to the root. Now the “pushing” part is key in this. I want to visibly see any white beads that are in the colored beads way, getting pushed left and right out of the way, and the surrounding white and colored beads reacting realistically to the pushing.
Essentially I need a program written or an effect created where all these beads can interact organically, like they would in the real world. You’ll also probably want to put fewer beads in your final rendering in order to let the beads build up slower and make it easier to see them all as they push through the white beads in to the root. Also there’s so many beads right now that the moment you start to stack these beads, they’re going to pile up to the borders of the frame in like two seconds… so that’s another reason why you’ll want to be working with fewer beads.
We need to be able to zoom in and out of any place on this animation. The SWF you saw will be the zoomed out view, but I want to be able to zoom in far closer on any part of the frame with total clarity. This root and frame composition also needs to be copied exactly (not the beads tough) because in the animation before the one you’ll be making, we zoom in to this frame, and then another animation that follows it will zoom out from this frame.
Once the beads finally finish piling up to about 3 times as thick as they are at the maximum thickness in this SWF, all the incoming beads should slow down to a stop (they should actually be slowing down as the buildup gets thicker and thicker until they’re at a total crawl by the end).
Next, I want 2 worms to come in from the top and bottom of the screen and eat through the white beads, disappear behind the root, and continue through to the other side, eating the white beads, while leaving behind a trail of colored beads. Those colored beads should immediately start absorbing in to the root at full speed again and the colored beads behind them should continue in as well (the worms are creating a low-pressure zone for the beads to go).
So really the first requirement before you place a bid, is I need to know if you can create a fluid program of hundreds of beads where each bead has a life and logic of its own, very similar to say the falling sand, oil, water, and wax game ([login to view URL]) where the beads have logic to them that they follow, more than you telling the beads where to go and what to do.
So that’s what I need. If I'm looking for this in the wrong place on getafreelancer, PLEASE tell me! I really have no clue if I'm looking in the right job category. If you have any questions, please ask and place a bid. Also please include an example of something you’ve done in the past that you feel would qualify you to make this. And lastly, in your message/bid to me, please include the numbers "587" so I know you actually read this entire thing and you're not just sending me a generic response.
Thanks!
