Database Analyst/Database Administrator

Applied Analysis is an economic research and analysis firm. We have a number of on-going projects that require database research and analysis. We are looking for skilled and experienced database analyst who can work efficiently with large data sets, creating queries, tables, graphs and other exhibits in support of various projects. Data routinely need to be exported into formatted MS Excel tables for further research, analysis and reporting. Databases we routinely work with are not overly complicated and include real property parcel records, voter registration databases, customized commercial real estate database that track buildings and tenants, and residential housing databases that track home foreclosures and homes available for sale. We are looking for a analyst who can provide assistance in: (1) generating data summaries and other analyses from databases as necessary; (2) help us manage and maintain the database; and (3) and help us modify/improve our database and our import routines. Technical Skills Required: MS Access 2010; MySQL; MySQL Workbench; SQLServer; MS Excel 2010 Additional Skills that Would Be a Bonus: SPSS, GIS, and MS PowerPoint Experience is particularly important to us in the project. We have a number of immediate needs, so we are looking for someone who can begin immediately. English proficiency is essential as is availability. Assuming a positive experience, we would expect to continue using the analyst on an on-going basis.
