Working System--minimum criteria:
• A copy of your database. Please make sure you compact the MS-Access file. Name the file Team#[url removed, login to view] where Team# is your team's number and Teamname is the name you have chosen for your team. For example, if you are on Team # 9, your team name is ‘Clueless’, the file name would be 9_Clueless_M4.accdb. Send it to me as an email attachment or deposit it in the BlackBoard Dropbox.
• A multi-table data entry form with a subform that allows the user to view, edit, and enter data for a purchase order, including line items. Make the purchase order the basis for the form, not the manufacturer! Use drop-down menus and lookup fields to improve data entry accuracy. You should be able to add a new purchase order and its line items through this form;
• At least two multi-table queries that will be helpful to the user:
a. One query that displays each manufacturer and that manufacturer's purchase orders—pick fields that are relevant, and sort by the manufacturer's name and by the order date;
b. One query that displays an inventory item and its quantity on hand and value. Include fields that are relevant, and sort by category. This should be a parameter query that permits the user to specify a specific category, or just hit <Enter> for all categories;
• At least one multi-table report that shows the main table with details from the related table:
• As the data source, create a multi-table query that displays each manufacturer by ID and name, that manufacturer's purchase orders with net total, shipping & handling, and gross totals,, and the line items for each order, including the item names, quantity, and price. You might need a subreport (similar to a subform) to do this last task;
• Group by the manufacturer ID;
• Subgroup by the purchase order number;
• Include subtotals for each manufacturer's purchase orders, and for the entire report;
• In the report footer, summarize the value of inventory holdings by each product category;
• Include page headings and footers with report titles, column headings, page numbers and the date;
• Make sure to format the numbers with decimal alignment, and use and consistent formats; a good visual layout will be a plus;
• A switchboard or menu system that automatically opens when the application starts, hides the database window, and allows the user to select:
• The data entry form(s) you create;
• The queries you create;
• The report your create—please display them in preview mode;
• Close the switchboard, open the database window, and return to the database;
