Hello. I can use several types of touch sensors. But as I understand, your device will be work outdoor and can be covered by water (rain or condensed mist). For such conditions I would recommend to use not only the Arduino itself, but also specialized chips for sensor switches. It's simple solution (costs about 1..3$), but that chips have self-tuning function, so will work better when conditions will be changed (wet dust or dirt on the surface of sensor, EMI from near AC wires etc). Also i can make custom-made PCB with microcontroller (for real application the Arduino board is not always the best format of device) or shield for Arduino. Usually i make a working prototype to check the whole device and for demonstration for client in Skype. If you want to obtain that working device by mail - i can send it to you. Cost of the components and delivery is not included to the current price and will be added (those additional cost lay in the range of 50..100$, it depends the of final design and choosen delivery service).
