We are an art gallery with a custom DB written in Access 97. The DB stores item and sale data as well as providing reports for sales, invoicing, inventory, and appraisals. The UI is a basic set of tool bars to bring up various forms. The form utilizes some custom programming.
Pictures of items are stored as embedded OLE items in the DB. These will need to be extracted and stored as JPEG/PNG files (whichever format they were stored in). The new database will store these pictures in a directory, specified relative to the database location (so it can be easily transported).
The current menuing system needs to be changed to something less clunky with the ribbon. Sidebar, floating toolbar, etc. are all fine, as is adding nav buttons to each form (currently it's in a shared set of buttons on the tool bar) and then a better menuing system.
A straight import into Access 2007 gives issues with dependencies for DAO2535.tlb. This is an issue where the code is using Access 1.0 objects in the code. This will need to be fixed, as I do not want additional libraries installed at the site.
There are 23 total tables, 70 forms, and about 30 reports. The vast majority convert automatically. There is very little "real" code, most of it defines searches and how buttons work.
I have 9 year experience in MS Access (All versions) and can do this in minimum cost if you want me to proceed. I will be waiting for your positive response. Thanks and Regards : TUHIN
Hello,
I have taken up many MS Access projects and would be glad to take up your project as well. I can deliver by weekend EOD. Please let me know. Kind regards.
I am as senior an Access person as any on the planet. Your OleDb issue is better dealt with using Attachments. The only real coding involved, hence the extra $100 is in converting the data to Attachments. As long as you do not mind dealing with a Canadian in the Pacific Time Zone, if you give me the go-ahead I can do the conversion before you open tomorrow.
I hsve been an MS Access designer/DBA since 1992 when Access was introduced. I am currently an MS Access Developer for a large company. I have created and converted many versions of Access for many clients as a freelance mdb designer. If you are not happy, you do not pay.
We can start the work today itself. And we have done these types of converstion works. We have lots of experience.
Please do give us an opportunity to work with you.
Cheers!!

I can help to convert the database and apply a ready solution from other application to save pictures in subfolder. I can show you examples of that application. Please, send me a sample of your application for review it and confirm my proposal. My proposal includes straight conversion, small changes in the code, to apply pictures in subfolders and contain acatalogue of these pictures in the database and in a subfolder. Please, contact me samples and for details.
