I live in a suburb in Cape Town called Observatory. Many of the other 'residents' are homeless. These people sleep next to cars, along highways and in doorways, including mine. Children fake illnesses at traffic lights for sympathy.
It isn't all bad, of course - far from it. But in a democracy influenced by the principles of socialism and revolution, we should be able to accommodate all of our citizens, not just the ones who conform to capitalism.
As you can see, I am passionate about social reform. I have travelled alone to rural areas and locations in Namibia, and visited schools in Lesotho and Zambia. I am a vegetarian, a born feminist, and have two 'street' cats and a small forest on my patio. I believe that human beings simply crave respect before they believe in themselves.
In addition to my passion, I am a trained experienced writer and editor who has worked on various subjects (including social development issues) and in various media. I work to brief but am also able to take the initiative. I value feedback and offer two rounds of corrections in my fee.
My rate is negotiable, as I would like to contribute to a movement like this. My quote is based on an hourly rate of £13 per hour, at 500 words per half hour (without research).
Thank you for your time.
