MEAR REPORT INTRODUCTION Mobile application development companies are dime a dozen in the fast changing scenario that we see today. There are companies that develop mobile applications of varied kinds. These Mobile applications are primarily for entertainment and information purposes. A quick look at the different mobile applications in the market will attest to that fact. What MEAR is looking at is to change that trend to mobile applications that promote goodwill and also increase the effectiveness of usage. 1. GENERAL INFORMATION The main aim of Mear is to develop mobile applications that have a social, ethical and user friendly approach to solving problems. Mear also has a broad objective in developing application software that transcends normal usefulness. We undertake work based primarily on the impact that the final product will make on the broad spectrum of observers that are likely to use it. We are actively promoting the use of technology for the promotion of basic services like health care, safety and of course justice. (i) SCOPE We have undertaken three application development jobs as of now. The first one was the conception and completion of an app for blood donation which comprises of the world’s largest Blood donor database. It was done in collaboration with the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board. The completed app is set to e launched by the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shree Oomen Chandy at a prominent function in the city. The second one is an application which will provide a comprehensive and a single platform for lawyers to provide their services to people online. The usual system, which needs to be changed, involves a lot of uncertainties and it is not completely foolproof in ensuring a fair chance of justice to people who are at most in need of it. Our app aims to lessen the burden of people. Our third app is an effort to aid the government in augmenting the interactive nature of public spots. We have undertaken an effort to build an application that will serve as a guide, informant and interactive source of graphics to the people that come visit the Trivandrum public Zoo.
