Firstly... did you get your tax return filed on time?
Apologies for my not seeing this post previously but, I got caught up in silly tax season.
Anyway, I am not based in Essex (Yorkshire in fact) but feel I can help in your requirements. I work well as a bookkeeper/ accountant, can perform well remotely and will ensure your business bookkeeping is carried out correctly and in line with UK tax standards.
My recommendation is that I do approximately 1 hour per month and a further 8 hours at year end getting figures together and submitting them to HMRC. I would need you to send receipts, bank statements, invoices etc. through either by post or by scanned document and would take it from there.
In addition to the actual bookwork, you will have the benefit of ongoing advice from an experienced professional, not only in the areas of tax, but in the management and profitability of your business (in addition to bookkeeping, I have been finance manager, financial controller and finance director of a number of SME businesses).
