CASE STUDY Patient with Breast Cancer Elizabeth Thompson, 34, was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer) in her left breast. She has two children, both of whom she breastfed for approximately twelve months. Mrs. Thompson's oldest sister died of breast cancer. The lump was detected when she attended her general practitioner for a routine biannual check up, including a Pap smear. “a fixed round lump with irregular borders palpated in the upper outer quadrant of left breast at 2cm in measurement.
