I need a small ASP.NET C# prototype application which illustrates, if possible, how to authenticate to a web site programatically. I am not talking about checking a username and password against a database, I am talking about basic authentication with windows integrated security. In .NET, this is called Windows Authentication. What I need to do cannot be done using Forms authentication.

The web site contains a directory that requires authentication which causes the browser to throw up a small login dialog when running in the anonymous user mode when requested. I want to eliminate the login box thrown up by the browser and handle it in my code. I need an example application. I don't know if you will need some Win32 API in an activeX control to do this, or something else. In a perfect world I would like it to be done in C# in a web form. However you can solve the problem is fine with me.

the structure is that the [url removed, login to view] page at root level, which is NOT password protected, has a textbox for username and a textbox for password and a button. By clicking the button, the username and password must be programatically authenticated against Windows authentication, and then provide entry into a password protected subdirectory using the credentials supplied in the username and password textbox (assuming they are a valid user in active directory). I cannot use Forms authentication for this, because when the user logs on, they must be authenticated at windows level and also permitted access to other applications that require a valid windows active directory user. FormsAuthenticationTicket does not work for this, it must be Windows.

Users must belong to a particular domain group in order to gain access to the subdirectory. Upon successful authentication, the user should be logged on within that user's context with all the percs. The user's identity should be able to be retrieved from or inserted into the [url removed, login to view] value within the aspx code.

I need this application to be in the format of a [url removed, login to view] ASP.NET Web Application in C#. The only files really needed are an aspx page and an [url removed, login to view] page for the code behind. There is no reason this cannot be done within one web form page, unless you want to write part of it in the form of .cs class files, which would be fine but not required. The simpler the better, in fact.

please do not take this project unless you are [a] 100% sure you understand what I need and [b] 100% sure you are able to deliver the project. DO NOT SPECULATE on my project. If you do not know how to do what I need, DO NOT BID on my project. If you do not have time to complete the project in a timely manner, DO NOT BID on my project. I have wasted too much time on GAF with programmers that say they can do a project, but then cannot deliver for whatever reason or excuse. I have been very lenient about not leaving bad feedback, but I have lost a lot of time also. So from here on out I will be leaving BAD FEEDBACK for anyone that takes a project and doesn't deliver on time. It's just too much a waste of my time and money.
